Autumn Cottage and It's Your Day!

Hello Everyone!

How are you today? I hope you are having a fabulous start to your weekend. I wanted to share a couple of projects I have done since I last shared.

I am starting to get back into other things I have enjoyed in the past like cross stitching. I will admit once I had gotten more involved in paper crafting I wasn't picking up my needle and thread as much. We are putting in a new floor where I keep my paper crafting supplies so things are in a disarray. And the kind of crafter I am I like to spread things out. So as a result I have been avoiding doing anything paper related. When I am with my scrappin' ladies I usually work on Project Life. But I still wanted to do something creative. Especially if I was going to watch tv.

So last night I picked up a long forgotten project and began working on it. It was so relaxing. I hope to be able to continue doing that long term as I have quite the stash. This was a Lizzie Kate design that came out in 2003. (Told you I had long term stash ) It was a boxer series. Its a kit that came with the special trinkets and fabric. The fabric is 28 count Summer Khaki Cashel Linen I think with a needle too but I can't remember. You had to provide your own thread though. Which I did. I used mostly DMC but had a couple of Weeks Dye Works. I was really surprised that I remembered how to stitch on Linen. Only downfall was that I had to take off my glasses to see the squares. Ha ha. So don't be surprised if I share more stitching projects even though this is a mostly Stampin' Up! related blog.

The 2nd project I wanted to share was a birthday card I made for a friend of mine. I won't say how old she turned. But her husband wanted to throw a surprise party for her. Even though it was said to not bring gifts I had to at least make a card. What kind of paper crafter am I if I didn't even do that? I kept the card pretty simple. I used Watercolor Wonder DSP that you can order from our Spring Catalog. (132994) The silver metallic encore pad also found in our Spring Catalog. (132142) and Very Vanilla Cardstock. (101650) I also used Rhinestones for the bling and a retired hostess set for the stamp. Remember we have Sale-A-Bration going on right now until March 31st. This means for every $50 you spend you get free product. Who doesn't like free? Anyways, thank you for stopping by! Please share what kind of creativity you have been doing lately.

  1. I LOVE cross stitch! Maybe this is the nudge I need to set aside my needles and pick up a new project!

  2. Great progress on your stitched piece. I completely understand those forgotten or set aside projects. I had set my stitching aside when I took up quilting. This year I'm going to try to balance the two. Have a great day, Toni from Easy Street Ramblings (peddlerjo.blogspot.com)
