Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father's Day

Yes, I realize I am a day late as Father’s Day was yesterday. But I didn’t want to post this until I had given it to my husband. Yesterday was a busy day for us so now is the first chance that I got to accomplish this.

I had a difficult time coming up with a Father’s Day card as I don’t have a lot of masculine stamps. But I knew I had this Navigation dsp that is now retired and the Sail Away stamp that had a tendency to go with the paper. I ended up not using the Sail Away stamp. On a side note if you are interested in the navigation look there is still the stamp The Open Sea (w $26.95 128454 c $18.95)

I sat down to see what I could create. I looked at the paper first to see what I could come up with. I did look at Retro Sketches to see if it would help me get inspired. The end result was this. I ended up fussy cutting the anchor from the dsp. I used Linen Thread ($4.50 104199 in natural)  to emphasize the rope that was on the anchor. Backing it up with Basic Black ($6.95 121045) cardstock and the card base with Midnight Muse.($6.95 126843) The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. (w $36.95 128748 c $26.95 127802) The faux stitches was done with a uni-ball Signo Gel Pen ($3.95 105021) The brads are retired but I bet our Candy Dots and Candy Dots Brad Bases would give the same effect. ($5.95 Neutrals 130934)  ($2.95 132293)

Hope those that celebrate Father’s Day had a good one yesterday or whenever you celebrate it if it wasn’t yesterday!  Thank you for stopping by!

  5. It is a beautifully masculine card! I love the anchor. Nautical themes are so in right now too.
